There are a number of key investment opportunities for the Dover district that will help to deliver more jobs and opportunities to the region, from commercial space at one of the largest purpose-built science parks in Europe to one of the UK’s most important gateways for trade with Europe and beyond.
Dover District Council adopted a new Local Plan in October 2024, which sets out a positive strategy for the delivery of homes, jobs and infrastructure to meet the needs of the district up to 2040. Land is identified to deliver over 11,000 homes and circa 3,013,895 sq ft (280,000 sq m) of employment floorspace.
This is through a mixture of local sites including large- and medium-sized urban expansions, rural village development and significant development and regeneration opportunities in Dover and the coastal towns of Deal and Sandwich. Areas include:
