£40m investment in sustainable business, energy, education & heritage
The development of the Betteshanger Parks represents a UK first for investment in green and sustainable business, energy, education and heritage. Located on the site of the former East Kent coalfield, this unique project is led by Hadlow College and will combine a green technologies sustainable business park; world class research & development, and; a national visitor destination and learning centre for sustainable energy and mining heritage.
The £40 million first phase has already received public funding of £5 million from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and £2.5 million from the Coastal Communities Fund. A further £11 million in private investment has been in agreed in principle with agreed pre-lets.
