Revenue and carryings up for DFDS on ferry services from Dover
The DFDS Group, northern Europe's largest integrated shipping and logistics business has reported an increase in revenue and carryings on its cross-Channel services from Dover. The Danish company operates a fleet of six ferries from Dover on services to both Calais and Dunkerque.
DFDS earned revenues of DKK 1,853m in 2015, a DKK 200m improvement on 2014. The company carried 14,923,000 lane metres of freight and 4,163,000 passengers.
The company continues to invest in its Dover operation with a DKK 900m investment in two new ferries for its Dover to Calais service, increasing capacity and frequency with up to 54 crossings per day between Dover and France. The Côte des Dunes entered service on 9 February, and will be joined by a sistership, the Côte des Flandres on 22 February.
The DFDS Group is based in Copenhagen and listed on the NASDAQ QMX Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
