Perrys Motor Sales unveils major expansion plans for East Kent

£2m investment in new Ford dealership in Dover, creating 35 new jobs

Perrys Motor Sales Ltd, which has over 50 car dealerships nationwide, has revealed major plans to expand its presence in East Kent in 2019.  Perrys is opening two new car dealerships and adding 55 new jobs to the local economy.

The new Mazda showroom in Canterbury makes Perrys the largest independent Mazda retail group in Europe. This new showroom at Island Road, Canterbury, is the only Mazda franchise in a 40-mile radius, employing 20 people and sitting alongside the current Vauxhall dealership.

The Mazda dealership will offer a wide range of both new and used cars.  As an approved Mazda repairer, it will provide customers with added peace of mind thanks to its fully trained team of Mazda technicians.  This new Canterbury offering joins the six current Perrys Mazda dealerships across the UK.

Testament to its commitment to East Kent, Perrys has also announced a £2m investment into a new Ford Transit Commercial and Car dealership, which will be located alongside its Perrys Vauxhall business in Whitfield, Dover.  Due to open in September 2019, this new dealership will add over 35 much-needed new jobs to the area, helping to boost the local economy.  This addition will bring the total number of Ford sites in the Perrys group to eight.

In 2018 Perrys enjoyed one of its best performing years in East Kent since opening in the region in 1987. It was also awarded Vauxhall’s customer service Excellence Award earlier this year.

Talking about the company’s success in the region, Denise Millard, Company Director at Perrys Motor Sales, said: “We’d like to take this opportunity to thank customers for their loyalty and repeat business over the years, and hope that they enjoy the new showrooms in Canterbury and Dover.

“Despite tough market conditions for the motor industry, Perrys has continued to perform well in this region.  Until now we have focussed mainly on Vauxhall in Kent, with dealerships in Canterbury, Broadstairs, Dover and Sittingbourne.  The two new additions of Mazda and Ford show our long term commitment to customers in this area.”

Millard continued: “Selling over 50,000 cars and commercial vehicles annually, Perrys has grown from strength-to-strength. Founded in 1908, today it has a group turnover in excess of £700m.”
