Dover 24/7: Britain’s Busiest Port

A new tv series goes behind the scenes to give you a different perspective to ponder the next time you wait to board a ferry. The Port of Dover is the star of a brand-new, six-week Channel 4 documentary series beginning at 8pm, Monday 2 June. This exclusive, access-all-areas series gives viewers a front-row seat to the round-the-clock operations that keep one of the UK’s most critical transport hubs moving and will give you an insight into the amazing work they do.

Filmed in 2024, during one of the busiest summers on record (the Euros and the Olympics!), the series captures our port at its peak. The Port of Dover is more than just a port. It’s a people-powered gateway to Europe and a world-class hub for trade, travel, and tourism, so tune in to discover what makes the Port of Dover truly extraordinary.
